Water pollution following economic growth becomes obvious in Vietnam and wastewaters from households and factories require rapid responses by Government. At this time, the serious problems for treating those wastewaters are vast cost for aeration and a shortage of veteran engineers.

To solve these problems, this project introduces new Japanese technology "AOSD (Automatic Oxygen Supply Device) for wastewater treatment. AOSD system is an optimized control system for biological wastewater treatment by calculation of required amount of oxygen consumed for removal of organic pollutant and nitrification reaction and so on using original formula with monitored DO data. The system can be operated by blower automatically with ON-OFF switching, as a result, the wastewater treatment plant can accomplish the imrpvement of the quality of treated water and saving cost for aeration simultaneously in a win-win situation.

The goal of our project is to disseminate the AOSD system in Vietnam and to contribute to the restoration and the reclamation of water environment in Asian area, therefore better natural environment will be bequeathed to future children.
